A.B. Original awarded Songwriter of the Year
The 2018 APRA Music Awards were held earlier this week at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. We are very pleased to announce that friends of the studios, hip hop duo A.B. Original (Briggs and Trials) were honoured with the APRA 2018 Songwriter of the Year award for their debut album Reclaim Australia. The duo have also picked up awards for the album at the ARIAs and National Indigenous Music awards. These socially conscious, outspoken Indigenous artists impressed the APRA Board of Writer and Publisher Directors with uncompromising songwriting that has lyrically brought attention to issues faced by our First Nations peoples. They are the first hip hop artists to receive this particular award. Congratulations from everyone here at Kindred Studios!
